But what does it mean?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>So, a word about moop or MOOP.  &#8216;MOOP&#8217; is the abbreviation for &#8216;Matter Out Of Place&#8217;, the anti-thesis of &#8216;leave no trace&#8217;.  It&#8217;s been an abbreviation for long enough that it&#8217;s become a word &#8216;moop&#8217;.  Apparently, this had been a growing issue at Burning Man, finally coming to a head for 2006, when they decided to publicly measure the amount of moop left over after the event and start to name and shame:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2956\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2956\" style=\"width: 3264px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nayrb.org\/~blog\/?attachment_id=2956\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2956\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/nayrb.org\/~blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_2378-e1484710075733.jpg\" alt=\"Moop Map 2006.
